Eric Ripert, his best buddy, discovered him. Up until now, there have been no hard indicators of the renowned chef’s motivation for taking his own life, no notes or traces suggesting or indicating what might have led him to do so.
His sole surviving child, 11-year-old Ariane, was born to Ottavia Busia, his second wife, following the dissolution of his first marriage.

Anthony Bourdain’s culinary prowess was his greatest attribute. He was a well-known chef, writer, trip documentary filmmaker, and TV personality.
He exceeded expectations in elevating his love of cooking and culinary services. He claimed that while on a family vacation in France, his appetite for cooking suddenly became intense.
He was born in New York City on June 25, 1956, to Gladys Bourdain, the chief editor of the New York Times, and Pierre Bourdain, a classical music industry executive for Columbia Records (who passed away in 1987).
Growing up, Bourdain lived in Leonia, New Jersey. His only brother, Christopher, works as a television broadcaster and currency expert.
Throughout his life, Tony demonstrated to the world that providing culinary services was a global interest and that anybody may choose to pursue it as a job or even a hobby. He did not think that cooking was a profession only for women.
After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America in 1978, he worked for many years at Brassier Les Halles, which closed its doors in 2017 due to financial difficulties.
