Why Did Miss USA Kill Herself? What Led to this?

Why Did the Korean War Start? At the age of 30, the former Miss USA took her own life on January 30, 2022. Her family, friends, and coworkers at Extra TV as well as the international pageant community were shocked by the news.

The passing of Cheslie Kryst has prompted a global outpouring of grief and a discussion about mental health awareness.

Why Did Miss USA Kill Herself?

Before this, Kryst’s mother, Ariel Simpkins disclosed that Kryst suffered from high-functioning depression.

Experts previously told Insider that the term, which is not an official medical diagnosis, describes depression among people who maintain, or even seem to thrive in happy-looking, productive lives.

Ariel Simpkins spoke on “Red Table Talk” about her daughter’s last text message to her and the pageant queen’s battle with depression.

Simpkins claimed that in her early 20s, her daughter started exhibiting symptoms and before her passing in January, Kryst made one attempt at suicide.

Simpkins stated that when Kryst realized her mother would be at her weekly exercise class on January 30, she texted her.

Simpkins claimed not to have read the entire text. Rather, she claimed, she returned home to her husband, Kryst’s stepfather, David Simpkins, and together they made a police report and reserved the next flight to Kryst’s home city of New York City.

However, Simpkins claimed that while she was on the plane, the police called to confirm Kryst’s death.

Simpkins continued, saying that she later reviewed her daughter’s most recent text message, in which Kryst continued elaborating on her experiences.

The Circumstances Surrounding Her Death

Former Miss USA Cheslie Kryst leaped to her death on Sunday from a Midtown high-rise, law enforcement sources confirmed this.

Kryst wrote, “May this day bring you rest and peace,” on her Instagram page just before she leaped.

Around 7:15 a.m., the 30-year-old lawyer and 2019 pageant winner leaped from her opulent 60-story Orion building at 350 W. 42nd St. and was discovered dead in the street below, according to sources.

According to sources, Kryst, who resided on the building’s ninth floor, jumped alone and was last seen on a terrace on the 29th floor.

According to sources, Kryst left a note stating that she wanted to leave everything to her mother, who was crowned Mrs. North Carolina in 2002 and was a former pageant competitor.

The sources stated that Kryst’s actions were not motivated by anything in the note.

Before she committed suicide, the previous Miss North Carolina, Kryst took first place in the 2019 Miss USA pageant.

She referenced Maya Angelou’s “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings” in her sparkling, winged National Costume competition outfit.

Kryst was a reporter for ExtraTV as well. In honor of World Mental Health Day in October 2019, Kryst shared her experiences and provided advice on coping with stress on Facebook.

She went over the matter once more in an interview with The Hilltop in 2020.
