After complimenting the purse, the “Umbrella” singer volunteered to send Perry the same. Later on, Perry indicated that she thought Rihanna was not serious because it was a $4,000 treasure.
She was hence tongue-tied to find the purse as a gift in her mail. “I thought, ‘Wow this is a woman of her word,'” Perry stated.

The falling out that was first hinted at in 2012, according to Marie Claire, came after Katy Perry and Rihanna reportedly didn’t show up together since the time they both attended the MTV Video Music Awards in 2009. “We’ve had dinner, and that’s about it.
I didn’t reach out to her after the incident,” she claimed. Perry seemed to be referring to the fact that several years prior, Rihanna was publicly seen kissing her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown at the awards show three years after he had beaten her and put her in the hospital.

Even though the two friends are usually seen seated next to each other during award shows, Perry and Rihanna were seated far apart at the 2013 Grammy Awards. Perry was in the front row with her then-boyfriend John Mayer, while Rihanna was further back with Brown.

Katy Perry and Rihanna came face-to-face again at the 2018 Met Gala. However, when the former besties were forced together for a photo, Rihanna’s facial looked clear she wasn’t happy, The Sun reports.
“Because Rihanna was chairing the Met Gala, she had to pose with a lot of the celebrity guests but it was awkward when she was asked to have the photo with Katy,” the source revealed. What made matters worse was that Rihanna reportedly left Perry off of the guest list for her after-party.

“The former best friends haven’t seen each other for more than 18 months amid their fallout with one another,” claims The Sun’s Bizarre column. “But they had to take a really, really awkward pic together on the red carpet” at the Met Gala on May 7 since Rihanna was co-chair of the event and Katy was one of its most high-profile celebrity attendees.
“This is because Rihanna was chairing the Met Gala and so she had to do photos with a bunch of the celebrity guests but it was uncomfortable when she was asked to have the photo with Katy,” a source close to Katy explained to The Sun. “They used to be close but Rihanna’s expression in the photo says it all.”
