“[Harris] said on multiple occasions that he was intimidated by Taylor, which is why he would not attend any events where she was being honored, or any award shows unless he was nominated,” the friend explained.
A source says that the breakup “wasn’t a shock” for Swift, because the couple’s issues have been ongoing — and much of it comes down to incompatible lifestyles. “They come from very different worlds,” says the source close to Harris, whom insiders confirm ultimately pulled the plug on the relationship. “Taylor is used to being treated a certain way.”
The same source went on to say that the age difference between the couple is another bone of contention, as Harris is five years younger than Swift. “Taylor somewhat lacks real-life experience,” the source concluded. “They will not be getting back together.”

Harris and Swift first met in backstage of Elle Style Awards in February 2015 when they were both introduced by their mutual friend, Ellie Goulding.
And thank the internet, a fan just so happened to be capturing the moment it took place and uploaded it onto Instagram.
The pic depicted Goulding and Swift converging on Harris who was having a conversation with Sam Smith. “Calvin’s a really great mate and he’s so fantastic and Taylor is such a cool person who I love,” Goulding reportedly said (via The Mirror) of the match-making. “I thought, ‘They’re both really awesome and both really tall, they’ll be brilliant together.’
