Why Did Ariana Grande Choose Acting? What Prompted This Decision?

Ariana Grande has achieved so much in her 30 years on this planet! From the age of 16, Ariana managed to go a long way: from the beginning of her career with Nickelodeon, she grew into one of the biggest stars on earth. But why did she venture into acting? Read through this article to find out.

Why Did Ariana Grande Choose Acting?

Ariana Grande had passion for music since she was just a kid. She had been a great fan of musical theatre and liked varying performances of different legendary performers. It was this zeal that drove her into acting assignments, such as appearing in the production of “13” on Broadway.

Grande loved how the storytelling aspect of the performance was done and how expressions were made through it. More so, it is this that collaborates and builds creatively upon her artistic sensibilities.

In the light of acting and music, Ariana Grande has certainly shown the entire world what she is capable of.

Grande’s Acting Career So Far

Before being a pop star, Grande was an actor, having taken on the character of Cat Valentine in Victorious, a Nickelodeon series airing from 2010 to 2013.

It was immediately after that series ended that she became one of the leads in Sam & Cat, a spinoff crossover series with the character Sam Puckett (Janette McCurdy) from iCarly.

The latter is so good in her immersion into the ditzy character that YouTuber CJ the X recently made an 80-minute video just about her performance in the shows. Grande’s first single from it is called “Put Your Hearts Up”; it came out in 2011, and by 2013 she released her first solo album, Yours Truly.

Final Thoughts

There is really no question that Grande has something of a successful career underway in the music world, but the performer has some solid, untapped potential that can be explored. She could test the waters of a return to her cinematic roots and try on the role of a dramatic actress.

Probably, it would be very fulfilling, not only for her but for most of her music fans, as well. She possesses not only the talent requisite to do so but there is also a precedent.

Grande is poised to take a huge leap as an actress after being cast as Glinda in the long-awaited adaptation of Wicked.
